Stobel V2 (DLG) – Aerofly RC 7 Add-On Aircraft. A discus lanch glider. I just uploaded my first mod for the Aerofly FS 2 Flight Simulator: a Cessna 172 that can turn its engine on/off and also allows to set everything in the cockpit to “off” C172 engine off. Hughes 300 Helicopter – Aerofly FS Addon aircraft. Hey check this.
First off, I wanted to include my two videos that show the new X-Plane 11.20 Beta. I really love flying in the new version. I can’t wait until it comes out of Beta. With the Native VR support through Steam VR, I find that I can actually run at a higher FPS and it feels smoother than ever before. I am running a GTX 1060 (6GB version) with an i5-7600k. In this video, I am running both the CPU and GPU without any overclocking.
Take a look at the two videos, and read my X-Plane 11.20 first impression, which is written underneath the videos. The first video is a flight in the Cessna 172. The second video is a flight in a Sikorsky S-76 A completely different experience. Lots of fun flying the helicopter in VR. Haven’t done much flying like this, but I plan to do more. X-Plane 11.20 first experience and review Ok, So lately I have been transitioning from X-Plane 11 with Fly Inside, to X-Plane 11.20 Beta.
Now I wasn’t sure about opting into the Beta, as I really didn’t want to do something that was reversible and glitchy Turns out it. VR Flight in the 737 with X-Plane 11 Have you ever been sitting in a commercial airline and wondered what it would be like to fly in the captains chair. Well, I think it has crossed my mind. A few days ago when I made this video, I really felt like I was in charge of a massive aircraft. It may have not been the smoothest ride for my passengers, however I didn’t hear any complaining. What’s in the video In this video I show you what its like to fly the 737 in X-Plane 11. I start out sitting on the runway in this massive beast.
When you look down from the window with the VR headset, you really start to appreciate the size of the plane you are flying. It truly brings you into this plane and gives you that captain feeling. I am flying X-Plane 11 and Fly Inside, running it on the Oculus Rift with touch controls.
I have a Saitek Yoke with throttle quadrant and a pair of rudder pedals. The trim wheel I use is actually DIY, as I used a Playstation 2 racing wheel for this. This is a great setup for me. I think you would agree with me that picking a computer suitable for virtual reality flight can be a complicated job. Even picking a computer in general can be complicated or is it? Well I used to look at the computer specs and just saw numbers and words without meaning.
The sales person at the store would either talk circles around me or wouldn’t know anything about computers and in either scenario was no help. I did the research and uncovered how simple buying a PC can be if you know a few basics. I went from very little knowledge about the computer parts, to a great understanding of what I need in my computer (especially when it comes to VR flight). This all led me to a point where I was able to build my own PC.
In my post, I am going to break down the computer jargon and get you to a point where you can make a good and informed decision about buying a computer. Getting Started When you are looking to buy a computer, the first thing you need to do is determine what you want to use it for. You may be looking.
Virtual Reality is amazing technology that creates realism you just can’t find anywhere else. With new technology, comes new opportunity for people like me. We can use the VR headset to create an amazing experience with a flight simulator. I currently use the Oculus Rift and fly with X-Plane 11 and Aerofly FS 2. Both are great sims that have there own pros and cons. I have a write up about this if you are interested. X-Plane Vs Aerofly FS 2.
Aerofly Fs 2 Demo
I wanted to go over a few of the problems that I see with VR Flight and some of the benefits. The Benefits Your Ability to look around and to move naturally The ability to move around naturally is one of the biggest benefits to VR in flight simulation. This allows you to spin your head around to see behind you. You can lean to the side to see around your plane, to reduce blind spots and to see that plane flying towards you. Fighter pilots can easily track there enemy and helicopter pilots can spot landings with ease. You can stretch up, slouch or even angle your head to see so many different perspectives.
This gives you the. So, this post comes from a recent question I received about whether or not you can run VR Flight sim with X-Plane on a Mac.
There is lots to consider here, so let’s get started. Why Would you Want a Mac for Flight Sim?
So, I own a Mac and I own a PC. My Mac is a late 2009 iMac that has been put through it’s paces over the years.
I really do understand why people love their macs. The way it runs, the way it feels, it is just a great product. I know some of you might be on the other side of the fence and hate the Mac.
Some of you might think the Mac is just an under powered, overpriced PC. Well, for me, I understand both sides of this argument. I think it really depends on what you want to use the Mac for. The Mac is an amazing computer for many things, but gaming has never been its strong suit. Can a Mac be used for gaming? It all depends on what you want it to do.
For the purpose of this post, we are not talking about gaming. We are talking. Have you ever looked to sky as a beautiful Cessna 172 flew overhead and sighed, because you know that getting your pilots licence is just not possible. Maybe you had your licence but you ended up having a medical issue, or spending around $10,000 is just not a possibility.
Maybe you have the money, but you are so busy, that giving up hours and hours to go train is not going to happen. Are you afraid of flight? Whatever the reason is, you cannot give up on flying all together. You can’t afford not to be involved in flight. It is such an amazing feeling of freedom. It gives you such a great feeling of accomplishment to take flight.
For me, my problem was time. When I began to look into flying, I soon started to realise that it was going to take some serious time to get a pilots licence and a lot of money. I started out by doing my ground school, which was difficult, however I was able to make enough time to attend a twice a week class. Once I finished the ground school, life became busy again and I wasn’t able to get into the.
